Aschratts Path Editor
Getting startet with APE
1. The Interface

1 - The Main Menu
2 - The Nodes-Lists
3 - Filters
4 - Node-Infos
5 - Bitsets
6 - Status-strip
2. Quick Path adding using the Mem-Hack
The MemHack (codet by MadHacker04) allows you a quick and easy path-adding from ingame.
I want to explain how this works step-by-step.
1. Start GTA San Andreas
2. Press Alt + Tabulator
3. Open APE (If it isn`t)
4. Klick on...

...To Start the Mem-Hack
5. If San Andreas is running the Tool asks you if you want to hide it in your taskbar, you can choose what you want!
6. Now the Mem-Hack Status in the Status-Strip shows you that the MemHack is running and an Console will open.
7. Let the console Running (Its the Main-Part of the Coord-Picker) and go back to San Andreas (Alt + Tab)
8. Start the game (if you havent done it yet)
Let`s come to the main part... placing new Path:
The Coord-Picker works on a new, comfortable system. To place Car-Nodes just get in a car and drive. If you want to place PED-Nodes you have to walk and if you want to place Boat-Nodes drive in a boat.
To test the thigs, get in any car and drive to a place where no cars are driving. (I suggest testing it on an airport runway, because theres enought space!)
Drive to the point where the path starts stop there and press F12!
A new Path will be createt. Everytime you press F12 again a new Node on these coordinates will be added to the path.
I suggest to press F12 every 10 meters or so, cause cars will only spawn on such points!
Now if you have arrived the end of the runway (or the end of the path) press F11, to add the last point and close the path. Later you can edit all points again and for example add roadblocks, etc... but you are also able only to keep your path :)!
Now close GTA and go back to APE!
Go to the Main Menu-entry "Tools" again and klick "Stop MemHack" to Stop the MemHack.
Now we want to add our New Path to San Andreas...
In the Main-Menu choose "Path" and "Import MemHack-Data..."!
Navigate to the "~~APE\MemHack\"-Folder and choose the "Temporary.dat"-File! If you want to keep this file you can copy it anywhere. You are able to add as much Files as you want!
The Program will calulate the Coords and add them to the List.
If you want to add (and not replace) Your Path to your San Andreas-Standart-Path then you first have to decompile them.
In the "~~APE\Tutorials&Readme\Source\"-Folder you find 2 DNF-Files, on with no coords inside and one with unmodified San Andreas-Coords inside. You can use this. If you have modified Path you have to decompile them via "Files" and "Decompile Exisitng NODES"
Anyway you have to import the DNF (Decompiled Nodes-File).
Choose "Import..." under "File" And navigate to your DNF! Choose it and it will be importet...
ATTENTION!!!
DNF-Files are very Big (Up to 10 Mb and more!) so it needs several minutes to import them! Just wait and do nothing! Even if the programm seems to be crashed! It is still working! And if you change the Filter after Import than the list is as big, that it takes several time to show it!
If you done this just import the MemHack-Data again and Export the DNF-File (this should be a little bit faster ^^).
Bringing the Path Ingame
Bringing the Path Ingame is easy. Just choose "File" and "Compile to NODES" and than navigate to your DNF-File and in the second Dialog to the place where the compiled files should be saved. This will take a few seconds and then the choosen Folder includes 64 NODES*.dat - Files.
Go to your GTA-San Andreas Installation and open the GTA3.img in the models folder (Or the IMG-Archive including the Nodes.dat-Files... Standart is GTA3.IMG).
Now delete the old Nodes-Files and import the new. Rebuild (If needed) and close your IMG-Tool!
now start San Andreas and hav fun ;)
If you want to learn more, and if you want to know how to create professional path, then you have to read the Advanced Tutorial. The File-Documentation includes informatiosn about the binary structure of Node-Files!
Greetings... Aschratt!!!
